On the last day of our New York trip, on our way to the airport, we stopped by in Queens to visit the one and only Dres from Black Sheep, a member of the legendary collective Native Tongues! Dres quickly showed us around his neighborhood and then we sat down to talk about the impact Queens has had on the rap scene; title & concept of his latest solo album "Tortured Soul"; the beginnings of Native Tongues & chemistry that fueled their artistic creativity; and story of duo evitaN that Dres created with Jarobi from A Tribe Called Quest. 

The co-author of classic "A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing" also talked about their 1991 debut album, being sampled in Fatman Scoop's club hit "Be Faithful"; shared candid memories of Phife Dawg and reflected on his personality & the thing that he admired most about Phife. And at the end, amazingly positive Dres surprised us with a very nice gift...
